London Skills and Employment Strategy Consultation
The Board's draft Strategy - Skills and Employment in London: Proposals for the London Skills and Employment Board's Strategy - was open for public consultation from 30 October 2007 to 21 January 2008. The draft Strategy sets out an ambition for London, and proposes five interconnected challenges along with priorities and proposed actions. It calls for action by Londoners, London's employers, education and skills providers, funding and delivery agencies, and Government.
In addition to the public consultation a stakeholder workshop was also held on the 10 January 2008. The purpose of the workshop was to listen to key stakeholders' concerns and priorities and to enable stakeholders to hear the views of other stakeholders. Another key objective was to inform participants and allow them to deliberate before responding formally to the consultation.
The day was broken down into three sessions. The first was an introduction to the proposed strategy, the second had people working in smaller groups in topics of interest to them and the third allowed people to come back into plenary and discuss what advice they would give to the LSEB in moving forward with the Strategy.
The results from the public consultation and a transcript of the workshop are expected to be available on the consultation website in March.
The Essex Strategy - Your Essex, Your District, Your Say.
The Essex Partnership is now conducting their next stage of consultation on the Essex Strategy. The first stage of consultation asked people's views on what they like about living in Essex. The outputs from this stage, which can still be reviewed on the consultation website, were then fed into the draft Strategy, which is now available for comment.
The draft Strategy sets out the key goals for improving quality of life in the County and is the work of the Essex Partnership - bringing together the public, private and voluntary sectors. Submissions received to this stage of the consultation will inform the finalisation of the Strategy.
