NDA Draft Business Plan Consultation
The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority's draft Business Plan for 2008/2011 outlines the key challenges and priorities for the NDA over this period. With a budget of £8.5 billion for the next three years this will be the largest amount of expenditure on the UK civil nuclear clean-up programme ever made and represents an increase of £671 million compared with the last three years.
The NDA’s Draft Business Plan was open for public consultation from 7 November 2007 to 31 January 2008.
This consultation received 126 responses – that compares to just 19 in response to last year’s old format Annual Plan.
The comments are now being reviewed and will be incorporated into a new draft of the plan which is due to receive Government approval at the end of March.

BERR Heat - Call for Evidence
The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR), Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) are currently in the process of preparing a strategy for Heat. The Call for Evidence document sets out the Government's understanding of the opportunities and prospects for renewable heat and some of the barriers that prevent the greater use of renewable heat.
This first stage of consultation invites contributions to this understanding by providing relevant evidence and inquires and suggestions of what further policies might be needed.
The online call for evidence will close on 31st March.
