International Connections - visitors from China
Attentive readers of this newsletter may remember that Andrew Acland paid a flying visit to China at the end of last year to speak at a conference on public participation in decision making.
Dialogue by Design was recently honoured by a return visit. Professor Cai Dingjian of the Constitutionalism Research Institute of the Chinese University of Politics and Law visited us to see and discuss our online consultation work. He is particularly interested in the practicalities of public participation, and we were able to share with him what we have learned about the design and management of different types of process.

This raises wider questions about international contacts. We stay in touch through email forums and alerts with what is going on elsewhere in the world, and we are always happy to visit others or host overseas researcher and practitioners. Do let us know if you stumble across an organisation or an individual with whom we should be in touch.
